Navigating life's currents

At The River Counselling, we understand that life's journey can bring unexpected tides of change, loss, and grief. This is a dedicated space for adults seeking warm, confidential, and empathetic support in the Nottingham area. Explore how we can help you find clarity and new ways to move forward.

Life's currents we navigate

Grief is a unique and often complex experience, arising from many aspects of life. We offer a compassionate space to explore the profound impact of significant moments, understanding that there's no one way to experience grief.

Life changes

From graduation transitions, leaving home, or moving to a new location, to the profound grief of pregnancy issues or loss, we support you through major life shifts.

Career and role shifts

Navigating job promotions or losses, new work responsibilities, changes in income, or the journey into retirement can bring unexpected emotional challenges and a sense of loss.

Relationship & health shifts

Whether it's a new baby, a child leaving home, the end of a friendship, infidelity, separation, divorce, or coping with personal or family health changes, we're here.

Your gentle path to healing

At The River Counselling, my focus is on providing a warm, supportive, and confidential space where adults can safely share their experiences without judgment. I specialise in understanding grief, loss, and how life changes impact you, helping you move towards your own meaningful goals. Everything you bring is welcome here.

A space to be heard

Many feel most comfortable with the traditional approach: a quiet, private room where we can talk one-to-one without distractions. Here, we'll explore your thoughts and feelings at your pace, fostering clarity and self-awareness. It's a space where you can feel less alone and more understood. These sessions are available at comfortable locations in Beeston and West Bridgeford.

Walking alongside you

Experience our unique 'walk and talk' sessions along the banks of the River Trent at Attenborough and Beeston. The gentle flow of the river mirrors the inner landscape, allowing thoughts to surface and emotions to flow. Nature offers a steady, unspoken wisdom, soothing the nervous system and creating space for reflection and breathing. In this open, living space, words often come more freely.
